On October 6-10, 2019, Dubai hosted the largest technology fair in the Middle East, Asia and Africa - Gitex Technology Week. During this event, as part of the Polish IT/ICT Promotion Program, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development organized for the first time a Polish information and promotion stand.

More than 45 Polish companies and startups from the IT industry used the stand to present their offer. During the fair, enterprises offering solutions in the field of smart home, SaaS or ERP software were particularly popular.

This year's edition of the fair was visited by over 100 000 people from 140 countries, and over 4 500 exhibitors presented their offer, including more than 50 companies from Poland, among them many beneficiaries of sub-measure 3.3.3 of SG OP "Go to Brand".

One of the Polish exhibitors at GITEX was Grenton - producer of the Smart Home system, which can be installed in currently built and already existing residential buildings. The system is distinguished among others by its hybridity, allowing connecting individual elements both by wire and wireless.

As emphasized by Mr Mariusz Lasek, Head of Business Development at Grenton, the product is created entirely in Poland, both in terms of hardwear and software.

- We first appeared on the United Arab Emirates market exactly a year ago, during GITEX Technology Week. We are also exhibiting at this year's edition. This is a result of co-financing we received under the Smart Growth Operational Program - "Go To Brand". It turned out, it was tailor-made for such a company as Grenton - a producer who has already managed to manufacture a product successfully distributed in Poland and with which he intends to go abroad. "Go To Brand" can significantly facilitate establishing international trade relations and, as a result, introduce the product to a new market. What's more, in the case of large international events, such as GITEX, we are usually talking about wider, regional expansion, because places such as Dubai are often business hubs for large areas - said Mr Lasek.

A few months after Grenton's first participation in a trade fair in the United Arab Emirates, the company signed distribution agreements for the UAE and Saudi Arabia markets.

- In the case of Saudi Arabia, the Al-Alameya group, employing approximately 2 000 people, has become our sole and authorized distributor. This company presented the Grenton brand in March 2019 during the largest trade fair for security systems and intelligent solutions in the country - Intersec. So far, Al-Alameya has installed over a dozen of our systems through local dealers, and the quality of the solutions offered by Grenton and the satisfactory cooperation  resulted in a new contract with the entrepreneur from Egypt - explained Mr Mariusz Lasek.

The signing of this contract took place during the GITEX 2019 fair at the Polish information and promotion stand.
